What You'll Learn
The Defensive Handgun course is designed to acclimate shooters to the realities of a self-defense shooting scenario. This course will cover shoot/no shoot scenarios, relevant laws, drawing from concealment and defensive shooting skills. The course of fire will utilize 200 rounds, and must be in a defensive caliber (.380 or above). If you have a disability or dexterity issue that precludes you from this, please feel free to contact us ahead of time to help accommodate you. PREREQUISITE TRAINING REQUIREMENT: All students must have completed either an applicable CCW course, Pistol 1 course, or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency prior to training date.
What We'll Teach
Defensive Shooting Fundamentals
This lesson will continue with the basics, including a very visual overview of what we call the “building blocks” or the fundamentals for accurate and safe shooting. Within this lesson, Michael Martin will explain the differences between the skills required for being a good “marksman” at the range, and the skills that might be required to save your life if you are ever the subject of a violent attack.
