What You'll Learn
Defensive Shooting Skills taught with SIRT laser training pistols. Everything you CAN'T do at the shooting range!
Perfect for those who already has a Permit to Carry or only keep a pistol at home for defense.
Training topics include:
- Drawing from the holster.
- Dynamic moving and shooting (Get Off The X).
- Shooting positions (1-2 handed) from contact range +.
- Aim and shoot accurately without using the sights! Close range skills
- Precision (sighted or dot) shooting. Longer distances.
- Shoot in low light situations WITHOUT a flashlight!
- Build awareness for shooting when others are present (Mall, church, etc...).
Skill training only. No live fire practice. Suggested range shooting skills are prescribed.
Live fire practice is still needed to evaluate and confirm proper grip, trigger control, sight alighment, and shot placement. Please get to a range and PRACTICE to confirm your effectiveness of unsighted and sighted aiming abilities, building confidence for actual defensive use not taught by most instructors.
Science based for real gunfights. The average defensive shooting starts less than 15 feet away and our instinctive response is to square up and lock our eyes on the threat. It is impossible to focus on the sights of the pistol in these moments experienced by both law enforcement and citizens in reactive situations.
You still need to learn precision shooting. Many fights start close and then people run! We must practice precision sighted skills for accuracy when we are able to aim with more precision. When you have the opportunity to take that more precise shot YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE for the shots you fire. Innocent people have been struck.
After this, continue to seek more training and practice in the areas you evaluate need improving.
