The Maryland Wear & Carry Permit (WCHP) Course offered by Williams Tactical Consultant Group is a comprehensive, Maryland State Police-compliant training program designed to prepare responsible citizens to lawfully carry a handgun in the State of Maryland. Our curriculum exceeds the minimum requirements set forth by the Maryland State Police and emphasizes legal knowledge, safe firearms handling, situational awareness, and practical defensive skills.
Led by Joshua Williams, President & Chief Instructor, this course is delivered by an experienced law enforcement professional and certified firearms instructor with extensive real-world operational background. Our training philosophy centers on professionalism, accountability, and responsible armed citizenship.
Course Overview
This 16-hour initial certification course (8-hour renewal option available) satisfies Maryland’s statutory training requirements for the Wear & Carry Permit application process.

Certification & Application Support
Upon successful completion of the course and live-fire qualification, students will receive the required training certification necessary to submit their application through the Maryland State Police Licensing Portal.
Our team provides guidance on the post-course application process to ensure your submission is accurate and complete.
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 7 days in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 7 days before the class will not be refunded.
