What You'll Learn
This 4-hour classroom course offers a thorough introduction to firearm fundamentals, including handling, nomenclature, universal safety rules, ammunition, care and cleaning, and safe storage.
It meets the training requirements for Maryland’s Handgun Qualification License (HQL) and can be adapted to fulfill the requirements for the Utah Concealed Carry Permit.

This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.

Classes are scheduled at the student's request. Fingerprinting for MD HQL is available at this location: Range Qualifications are scheduled separately based on time, location, and availability of ranges. Range fees and ammunition are the student's responsibility. Typical range fees are between $20 and $35.
