This course meets the 16Hr minimum requirement to obtain the W&C Permit for the state of Maryland. It covers all the material covered in the HQL course, plus more. This class is designed as a one-on-one experience to make the shooter more familiar and proficient with their firearm. It includes a review of the Firearm Safety Rules and the Fundamentals of marksmanship (stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture, breath, trigger squeeze, and follow-through). The course also covers the operation and manipulation of the shooter's firearm, including holster draw (if applicable), malfunctions, and field stripping for cleaning and maintenance.

The round count will vary based on what the shooter is practicing. However, expect to shoot at least 50-100 rounds. The range will have ammo for sale.

In Maryland, Law Enforcement Officers (active and retired) and Military Service members (active and retired) are exempt from the 16hr training requirement to receive the Maryland Wear & Carry Handgun Permit. This exception assumes that LEO and military service members have had prior weapons experience and training.

While in most cases that is correct, it is common that LEO and military members do not know the laws and other fundamentals surrounding Maryland Wear & Carry. So this course is to fill that void.
