What You'll Learn
Join us for the 16-hour (two 8 hour days) Illinois Concealed Carry and Home Defense Course.
Successfully completing this course will provide you with the training certificate required to APPLY for your Illinois Concealed Carry License with the Illinois State Police.
CURRICULUM SUBJECTS:
- Firearm Safety
- Basic Principles of Marksmanship
- Care, Cleaning, Loading and Unloading of a Concealable Firearm
- Applicable State and Federal Laws Relating to the Ownership, Storage, Carry, and Transportation of a Firearm
- Weapon Handling

PLEASE NOTE:
Instruction will be conducted in a classroom setting. Live-fire qualification will be conducted at a gun range and is required for all course attendees.
Classroom location is NOT wheelchair accessible and requires the use of stairs. If there is a medical condition or physical disability the instructor should be aware of, please contact us prior to registering for this course.
- Gun Range Fees are covered - NO CHARGE.
- Firearm and 30 rounds of ammunition are provided for qualification (for those who prefer this option) - NO CHARGE.
- B27 qualification target provided - NO CHARGE.
IDENTIFICATION:
Bring your valid Illinois Driver’s License/State ID and your valid FOID Card. Both are required to attend this course.
You must be 21 years of age or older to register and participate in this course.
SAFETY FIRST:
- DO NOT bring firearm(s) into the instruction facility or classroom.
- NO live ammunition is allowed in the instruction facility or classroom.
DRESS CODE:
- Upper body: Shoulders, chest, and abdomen must be covered.
- Lower body: Pants or long shorts covering thighs.
- Feet: Fully covered outdoor footwear (No sandals/flip-flops).
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.

*** Qualification at gun range is required and completion time may exceed 1 hour depending upon the size of class. *** As noted in the class description, if you prefer to use your own firearm for qualification at the gun range (instead of the qualification firearm and qualification ammunition provided by the instructor) be sure to also bring a minimum of 30 rounds (60 rounds recommended). *** No Magnum or +P Rounds for qualification.
