What You'll Learn
This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home, or self-defense. We will cover:
- The parts of revolvers, semiautomatic pistols and ammunition
- The gun firing cycle
- Proper grip, sight picture and sight alignment
- Trigger pull
At the conclusion of this course students will have a working understanding of firearms and the universal rules governing their safe use. Graduates will possess knowledge sufficient to own, operate and maintain a weapon safely and responsibly. As a part of the class you will be able to put hands on multiple sizes, styles and models of instructor provided firearms as well as the components that make up ammunition. From this exposure our students become empowered to make informed decisions as they prepare to purchase a firearm and ammunition for home defense and/or participation in the shooting sports.
Specific modules covered include:
- Georgia Code Governing Weapons
- Situational Awareness: The First Line of Defense
- Self-Defense Firearms Basics
- Defensive Shooting Fundamentals
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
