NRA Basic Shooting Courses are hands on Instructor-led classes approximately 6 hours. They are designed to familiarize attendees with popular Pistol operations and safety. Major areas of focus include key components and actions, proper loading and handling, primary shooting positions, major differences in ammunition, cleaning and storage, an overview of different types of pistols shooting sports, and much more. Students are exposed to several styles of pistols and a number of popular accessories. The courses are approx. 8-hrs made up of classroom discussion and shooting qualification at a local gun range. It is our right, and it is our duty to maintain the freedoms allowed us by our Founding Fathers.
Prerequisite: Instructors permission An overview class with emphasis on Situational Awareness, Developing a Personal Safety Plan, Safety in the Home, Office Spaces, Church and Fundamentals of Firearm Safety.
Prerequisite: Instructors permission and completion of USCCA CCHDF course or NRA Basic Pistol course. This course will start in the classroom with review of the universal rules for firearm safety, firearm fundamentals and begin new training in extended muzzle awareness exercises and tactical considerations for high occupancy classrooms, corridors and worship center areas. Non-CCW holders will start preparation for their CCW Application (if interested) and learn how to effectively respond in an active shooter or protestor environment during an incident and before Law Enforcement support arrives; through being released in the aftermath from Law Enforcement questioning. CCW Holders will have additional training in those environments in Part 2 of this training, as well as advancing in firearms proficiency through Dry Fire Practice (classroom & range) and Live Fire training on the range, all done from concealed carry.
