Certified directly by a USCCA Training Counselor, this course gives you the official blueprint, industry-recognized curriculum, and presentation mastery required to teach Concealed Carry, Home Defense, and Basic Handgun fundamentals nationwide.
The program pairs foundational online preparation with an intensive two-day classroom and range residency. Rather than just testing your shooting ability, this course shifts the camera entirely onto your teaching methodology, instructional mechanics, and real-time public speaking skills.
Program Structure & Delivery
Phase 1: Pre-Course Virtual Mastery: Complete the mandatory USCCA online learning modules at your own pace before arriving. This establishes a solid grasp of core teaching methodologies, curriculum design, and foundational knowledge bases.
Phase 2: The Two-Day Practical Residency: Dive into immersive classroom modules focused on instructional leadership, group dynamics, and mitigating top instructor pitfalls.
What You Will Master
The Art of the Teach-Back: Stepping up to the podium to present core modules under the strict critique of a Training Counselor, perfecting your delivery, pacing, and student engagement.

Certification Requirements
To leave this residency as a fully credentialed USCCA Instructor, candidates must successfully clear all evaluations, including:
Scored Knowledge Testing: Demonstrating flawless comprehension of the legal use of force, home defense concepts, and safety principles.
Practical Teach-Back Evaluations: Delivering passing marks on your assigned interactive classroom presentations.
The Official USCCA Shooting Qualification: A scored live-fire standard displaying total platform mastery under tight metrics.

What We'll Teach
Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals - Certified Instructor
Upon successfully completing this course, you will become a USCCA Certified Instructor uniquely authorized to teach the USCCA course, Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals.
This course has become the nation’s leading curriculum for law-abiding Americans seeking to obtain their concealed carry permit. When it comes to firearms fundamentals and concealed carry and home defense concepts, you will provide your students with high-quality material and help them understand the ‘why’ behind training concepts.
Class Preparation: You must complete the corresponding online learning course. (Automatically sent to you upon registering for the class.)
Day 1: you’ll be taught by a USCCA Training Counselor on a number of valuable topics including:
- Top ten instructor mistakes and how to avoid them
- Teaching best practices
- Running a safe live fire range
Day 2: You’ll have a chance to:
- Demonstrate your knowledge of the USCCA training material through seven short presentations to a group of your peers
- Run a live fire range, guiding your peers through the safe completion of the USCCA course of fire

Additional Notes from Your Instructor
Attendance does not guarantee that you will be certified. If you do not meet the standards of the evaluations and practical exercises, you will be offered training and educational opportunities to help you complete the course successfully. Prerequisites: Acceptance into the course by training counselor Completion of the online e-learning Fluid firearms handling and safety Understanding of basic defensive firearms skills Required Equipment: Professional, instructor-type clothing. No ripped or torn jeans, ragged clothing, or sloppy appearance A notebook Pens and highlighters Eye and ear protection A quality defensive handgun (preferably in 9mm or better) 200 rounds of ammunition (minimum) A quality waist-mounted holster, made specifically for your handgun that can be concealed under clothing on a Strong Belt (No duty or competition belt rigs. no button release Serpa style holsters), 3 magazines, magazine pouches, or pockets to keep in 5-10 dummy rounds for your caliber gun Water and snacks, lunch (working lunch) Proper footwear and clothing for the classroom and range A positive attitude and the desire to become the best instructor possible.
