U.S. Concealed Carry Association Founder and CEO Tim Schmidt hosted Texas Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) for an online broadcast to speak about national concealed carry reciprocity. You can view the interview here.

Leading the Fight

Sen. Cornyn is the senior senator for Texas and the lead sponsor of the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act (S. 1522). He has served the people of Texas for nearly four decades. He was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2002 and is currently serving his fourth consecutive term after being reelected in 2020.

Most importantly, Sen. Cornyn has been leading the fight in the U.S. Senate to pass national concealed carry reciprocity. He is the lead sponsor of S. 1522 and has introduced the bill in the last several Congresses. He is a concealed carry permit holder, father and avid outdoorsman and hunter, so self-defense has been a longtime priority for him both personally and professionally. Texas is home to millions of responsible Americans who cherish our natural-born right to self-defense.

An Ally in Our Corner

The USCCA is working hard to drive awareness toward national concealed carry reciprocity. We’re grateful to have leaders like Sen. Cornyn on our side who have been leading the fight — not only in defending our rights but also in expanding them and ultimately helping responsibly armed Americans better protect themselves.

Considering a record number of Americans are accepting the responsibility of protecting their loved ones, these efforts are more important than ever. More than 5 million new gun owners joined the ranks in the last year.

Don’t miss out on this exclusive interview with Sen. Cornyn that includes insight on what is going on with national concealed carry reciprocity.
