In 2015, I penned my re-envisioning of Clement C. Moore’s infamous Night Before Christmas poem. My version included several 2A references and shooting-themed twists. Since today is Christmas Eve, I highly recommend reading (or perhaps rereading) that blog post!

In the same spirit, I figured it was time to take a look at another traditional holiday favorite … and maybe change it up just a little a bit! So here is a special ode to the AR-15, with much creative liberty taken in altering the poem O Christmas Tree. The popular song was based on a 16th-century German folk song that, by the way, originally had nothing to do with Christmas. And while this ridiculously reworked carol is all about the Armalite Rifle model 15, it has nothing to do with seriousness. It’s just for fun. So please don’t hate all over this blog post in the comments! It’s Christmastime, after all.

May you enjoy a wonderful Christmas holiday with your family and friends! And have fun singing a new version of an old favorite.

O AR-15, O AR-15,
Thy receivers are resplendent!
Not only thy unique design,
An upper and lower is thy prime.
O AR-15, O AR-15,
Thy receivers are resplendent!

O AR-15, O AR-15,
Much pleasure dost thou bring us!
For ev’ry year model 15,
Brings to us all both joy and glee.
O AR-15, O AR-15,
Much pleasure dost thou bring us!

O AR-15, O AR-15,
How lovely is thy handguard!
And pistol grip to be so bold,
Adjustable stock for young and old.
O AR-15, O AR-15,
How lovely is thy handguard!

O AR-15, O AR-15,

How sturdy man hath made thee!
Thou shoot’est targets faithfully.
Thanks, ArmaLite, unchangingly!
O AR-15, O AR-15,
How sturdy man hath made thee!

O AR-15, O AR-15,
Thy muzzle blasts out brightly!
Thy optics make you so precise.

Each trigger press so crisp and light.
O AR-15, O AR-15,
Thy muzzle blasts out brightly!
