Terminal ballistics is a science all to itself and the brief tests we are capable of doing at the Concealed Carry Magazine offices only scratch the surface. But what we can find out is that not all ammunition will perform as expected from every gun.
This .357 Magnum round began to yaw and exited the gel block in a flat spin. It will take more testing before we make a determination on the effectiveness of this round, so don’t ask about the gun and load combination just yet. Just remember this: keep shooting until the threat stops, because you never really know what your rounds are doing inside the bad guy’s body.
Exit Wound
Regardless of the performance of this round, I still would not want a .357 Magnum projectile spinning around inside me and flying out the side of my body.
