USCCA Concealed Carry Expo: Just One Month Away

I’d like to say I invented the USCCA Concealed Carry Expo just for you. But that would be untrue on a couple of levels. Sure, I pushed forward the idea, but so many other people helped build this thing that I can’t say I “invented” it. It is true that I helped, but no one does something like this alone.

And saying it is just for you … well, that is a bit untrue as well. The USCCA’s Concealed Carry Expo is for anyone who owns a gun or who thinks he or she might want to own a gun. (This is my official invitation for you to share this column with everyone you know who MIGHT want to learn more about the concealed carry lifestyle. Do it now.) Share this with everyone you know. I am asking you to share this because I really believe that with more people attending the Concealed Carry Expo, we will build a safer nation and help to save lives.

The Concealed Carry Expo opens May 17 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Tickets are on sale now, but know this: We have picked a popular venue, and hotel rooms are getting tough to come by within walking distance of the Convention Center. That is the double-edged knife of being successful. People love our Expo so much that we are having a bit of trouble working through the growth.

Why You Need to Attend the Concealed Carry Expo

If you are the recipient of this column or if one of your wonderful friends has sent you a note saying, “Check this out. You should come to the Concealed Carry Expo,” well, I would like to explain a few of the details about this little shindig.

First up, the USCCA’s Concealed Carry Expo is an educational opportunity like nothing you have ever seen before. Not only do we have plenty of fee-based training (most of which is sadly sold out), but we also offer so many free classes and training sessions that some folks get frustrated that they can’t fit everything into their schedules.

We will be offering classes on everything from first aid to the importance of the “combative mindset.” Yes, I said “combative” and not “defensive.” It is important to note that we believe when it is time to fight, one must fight like his or her life depends on it. You don’t want to be playing defense; you want to take the fight to your attacker.

But maybe that is too specific. The Concealed Carry Expo also offers training topics on things like situational awareness and conflict avoidance. We will teach you how to notice those who intend to do you harm and how to avoid them.

See New Gear at the Concealed Carry Expo

The USCCA Expo is also the single best place to get your hands on new gear designed specifically for concealed carry. We don’t allow vendors who don’t offer products or services that cater directly to concealed carry or home defense. We are here for one reason: personal protection. The USCCA wants to help you become a better, more responsible protector and defender of the people you love.

Please accept this as a personal invitation. Buy a ticket. Come to the Concealed Carry Expo. Meet like-minded people. Learn about all the elements of concealed carry and show your support for the millions of law-abiding citizens of this country who use guns every year to protect their lives and the lives of their loved ones.

It is our duty to change the conversation about guns in this country — and this is our chance. The USCCA exists to make America safer, one person at a time. Self-defense is a human right and a personal responsibility. Come see how it is done.
