No one who has survived a gunfight has said, “I wish I’d had fewer bullets.” Spare ammo might not be mandatory, but it can’t hurt. Last year, Pitbull Tactical — based in Orlando, Florida — launched its universal magazine carrier. This year, the company improved it.
This polymer magazine carrier will securely hold anything from a single-stack 9mm mag to a double-stack .45 ACP magazine and can be worn inside or outside the waistband. It is a simple idea that is very well executed. Two polymer pieces are held together by a polymer band that expands to hold any magazine and applies enough pressure to keep it in place. A couple subtle changes in ergonomics make the unit very comfortable and easy to use. For anyone carrying extra ammo, the universal magazine carrier by Pitbull Tactical is worth a look.
Bullets Toward the Belt Buckle
When putting a spare magazine into a carrier, make sure the bullets are pointing toward your center line (belt buckle). That way, when you pull the magazine out of the carrier, it is ready to go right into the magazine well.
