The Solo features an eye-catching Appalachian hickory handle stained either deep brown (tested) or black. The handle is further enhanced by the laser-cut checkering and Woox logo on both sides. It is gently curved to fit well in the hand, widening slightly at the bottom.
Using the SOLO
With its superb balance, the Solo can be effectively used with one or two hands, and it is light enough to carry in a pack. I tested the Solo in the woods at the back of our property, cutting a few blazes onto some standing deadwood trees with ease and shaving bark off another tree that had seen better days.
