Minnesota residents are rushing to secure their concealed carry permits…before it’s too late. Since the new year, there has been a drastic increase in new permits in Minnesota with fear over terrorism and Obama’s new executive action on gun control.
“Since the beginning of the new year, there have been at least 221,712 active permit holders—a 6,189 increase from December 2015,” according to the state’s Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
This isn’t the first time there has been such a significant increase in new permits; the most active month for issuing CCW permits was March 2013, shortly after the Newtown elementary school shooting.
It’s not just mass shootings that spike interest in self-defense, but the fact that people realize the places they once thought were safe often aren’t anymore.
