PREPARE STUDENTS FOR A REAL-WORLD ENCOUNTER

6 Turn-Key Self-Defense Scenarios

USCCA reality-based scenarios offer unmatched flexibility, allowing Official Partners to deliver effective self-defense training while utilizing an existing simulator. For example, as an Official Partner, you could offer scenario-based training to students by pairing the scenarios with your current classes, one of the USCCA’s curricula (like Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals), or by offering standalone mini-classes with scenarios that are designed specifically for the civilian market.

Restaurant Encounter
Gone Wrong

On-Screen:

  • Deciding when to defend and when to flee
  • Identifying reasonable means of retreat or escape
  • Justifiable use of deadly force
  • Recognizing when less force is the best option

“Thanks so much for facilitating
the simulator sessions! In
digesting the training after the
fact, it made the real-life dangers
we talk about really come alive
for me. It made me realize an
attack can really happen
anywhere, at any time, and in
that moment all you have is
what’s on you. You won’t have
any more time to prepare. Like
what if that was real (?) Thank
God I get another chance to
prepare.”

- Susie, WI

“I had never gone through a training simulator before and I was amazed at how my body reacted, mentally and physically. Testing my skills during my simulation was an eye opening experience and will help change my mindset and training in the future and I can't wait to do it again!”

- Sean A.

“Even being an observer in the Simulation Training, I learned a lot. I feel better prepared knowing how I may react to a threat. Plus, having the reassurance from the Instructor of what went right in terms of the Legal Use of Force made me feel even more prepared.”

- Steve W.

USCCA Partners have all the tools they need to maximize the simulator experience, free of charge, and conveniently located on the Instructor Dashboard:

Scenario Playbooks
Instructors utilize the playbooks to help pinpoint teachable moments during scenario training, highlighting for students what decisions were made, and why. Each self-defense scenario has its own playbook, which is used when analyzing a student’s reaction to a given scenario. These playbooks will guide the instructor/student discussion as the scenario is reviewed, helping to identify opportunities for improvement. The scenario playbooks are the best way to ensure simulation training effectiveness is maximized.

Simulation Instructional Handbook*
The instructional handbook eases the transition from traditional classroom instruction to mastery of simulator instruction and methodologies, optimizing your time spent teaching while utilizing the simulator.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM USCCA
REALITY-BASED TRAINING SIMULATIONS

YOUR TRAINING BUSINESSES BENEFITS

  • USCCA Partners will be armed with the tools they need to maximize the simulator training experience:
    • 6 self-defense scenarios designed for the civilian market.
    • Scenario Playbooks that pinpoint teachable moments throughout each scenario.
    • Simulation instructional handbooks that help transition from the classroom to simulator instruction and methodologies.*
  • USCCA training scenarios are turnkey products; simply download them to your existing simulator training lab, prepare your instructors, and begin training.
  • Reach new audiences and attract gun owners of all experience levels by offering an effective alternative to live-fire training.
  • The USCCA’s Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals curriculum includes lessons that directly relate to these new training scenarios. Staff who are certified in CCHDF can teach:
    • How to identify pre-threat indicators
    • Situational awareness
    • Justifiable use of deadly force
  • Instructors are able to give instant feedback to students when observing them in realistic self-defense scenarios.
  • Students can practice making split-second decisions, which will help them to understand the legal use of force. This is one of the most practical and effective ways to teach students to recognize when — or if — the use of deadly force is justified.
  • Participating students can experience a lifelike violent encounter in the workplace, or see what it might look
and feel like to be confronted by an angry stranger in a restaurant. Test their knowledge and help them learn
from realistic situations that they could encounter in their daily lives.
  • Simulation training scenarios activate students’ mental and physical responses to mimic real self-defense scenarios, giving them a deeper understanding of how they’ll react under pressure.

YOUR STUDENT’S BENEFITS

*Simulator Instructional Handbook is only available to Instructors that are Certified in USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals curriculum.
