My Biography
My name is Richard, and I live in the West Bend area with my wife and two young kids. I became a USCCA Instructor because I want to help others learn how to keep themselves and their loved ones safe.
Before I started teaching classes, I spent five years serving in the Marine Corps, then another five years pursuing a degree in education. Since then, I’ve used my background in these two areas to provide life-saving information in ways that are practical, and relatable to the everyday lives of my students.
The main area of focus in all of my classes is helping my students develop a vigilant mindset. Everything I teach is designed to help my students make good decisions to detect and avoid threats. However, for those times when it is unavoidable, I equip my students with different strategies for de-escalating conflict, and successfully defending themselves.
