What You'll Learn
A Wisconsin Concealed Carry Permit is valid in 33 states due to reciprocity agreements. If you are looking for someone that will just hand you a certificate, that is not me. The Concealed Carry and Family Defense Academy finds it EXTREMELY important that you walk away from my class with the knowledge needed to protect yourself, your family and those around you. All you have to do is read the newspaper or watch the news and you will see you are as at risk in your home as you are on the street. I spend at least an hour on home/family protection plans. Even if you do not choose my training, please, oh please choose someone that will cover home protection - it is important - equally important in rural areas! Why 6 hours? We stress situational awareness, legal ramifications, home defense, altercation avoidance, and defensive shooting. To cover all the curriculum and so that the students are well versed in not only concealed carry, but the responsibilities that accompany the certification, it takes time. This is not a live fire class, however, we will be handling SIRT laser training pistols in all classes, to assure proper gun handling, grip and stance for defensive shooting. The price of this class is $70. A 245 page textbook, "Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals" by Michael Martin is optional, and can be purchased for $30 at the class. It is an amazing book, that you will find yourself referencing many times in the future. I feel so strongly that my students need to ALWAYS feel comfortable and in touch with their training, that once you attend one of my classes, you are welcome to come back for a refresher any time you please, at no cost to you. My philosophy is no person should be left behind in regards to their training - if you learn better one on one, let's do that - just contact me for a quote!
