What You'll Learn
Beyond the Permit I is an integral part of learning what it takes to carry a handgun. In this course we will cover: Marksmanship Ammunition selection Holster Selection How to carry a pistol daily Effective Magazine Changes (Speed-Loader Usage for Revolvers) Presenting the Pistol from the Holster
Requirements: completion of TN/MS Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit Course 21 years or older Service grade handgun 2 magazines or speed loaders Holster Magazine/speed loader pouch 150 rounds of ammunition Eye and ear protection All of the gear is available for rent or purchase at Top Gun

Cancellation Policy: Top Gun Academy classes guarantee your seat in class. We do not overbook classes. Your payment is for a seat in the class, only. If you choose to not use your seat, that is your prerogative. If you choose to give or sell your seat to someone else, that is also your choice. If you prepay for a class code, the code also belongs to you, and you can use it as you see fit. There is no expiration for the code. We do not refund class tuition. Classes can be reschedule per our reschedule and cancellation policy. We will happily reschedule with no fees as long as you give us a full week’s notice. That is to say, if your class is on a Saturday, you can reschedule with no fee as long as you let us know at least by the Saturday prior. With less than a week, a $30 fee is required to reschedule. MTP and Armed Guard classes have a higher reschedule fee ($60). If you simply don’t show up, we do not reschedule. While will will put great effort towards your success, we can’t guarantee your results in the class. Class failure will not result in a refund.

Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive classroom course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. If you are new to handguns, this is a great introduction to everything you need to know to start your self-protection journey.
This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
Dear Beyond the Permit I student, Thank you for registering for our upcoming class. We will begin promptly, so please arrive SEVERAL minutes early to check in and to make sure you have the gear and ammunition you need. Class starts promptly so please be here early (about 30 minutes) to ensure you have your gear all set. For class you will need: High quality, service sized pistol in 380 ACP, 9mm, 40 S&W, 45 ACP, 38 SW Special. Subcompact or pocket-sized pistols will be poor choices. High quality belt worn holster. No Serpa or similar holsters. Holsters made of cloth or nylon are poor choices. SERIOUSLY, no Serpas, period. 1 spare standard capacity magazine or speedloader -Magazine/speedloader pouch BELT— you really do need one!! 150 rounds of FMJ ammunition. No steel cased ammo allowed. A concealment garment that opens in the front such a jacket, blazer, or fleece vest Belt- I know it’s on the list twice. YOU NEED A BELT. Eye protection Ear Protection A hat and long pants are highly recommended You will not be allowed to use a pocket holster nor an off body holster such as a purse holster in this class. We have classes on those topics, but this class is a prerequisite for them. If you have not purchased the items above, we can rent you the entire set of gear and firearm at Top Gun. You will need to purchase our ammunition here at Top Gun.
