This course satisfies the "suitable training" requirement set forth by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) that is necessary to apply for a Concealed Weapon Permit (CWP). The instructional part of this course is conducted in a classroom environment, along with a mandatory twenty-five (25) round live-fire qualification course. There is also a fifty (50) question written exam that students must pass to successfully complete the class. This course also includes the subject matter in support of the "Open Carry with Training" law which recently passed in South Carolina.

Over 1 million students have taken the U.S. Concealed Carry Association’s course offerings across the nation. Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive classroom course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. If you are new to handguns, this is a great introduction to everything you need to know to start your self-protection journey.
This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
Students will need to bring their handgun, 25 rounds of ammunition, and a holster for their firearm. Please do NOT load the firearm before bringing it to class. Students may bring additional ammunition to retake the shooting qualification if they do not feel confident about passing on their first try. I do have firearms and ammunition available to rent for the class. Please contact me prior to the course to make arrangements if you require that service. Reminder, the class itself is free.
