Doug deployed to Panama, Haiti, and Kuwait before leaving the Army to accept an appointment as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. After graduating from the FBI Academy in January 1998, Doug was assigned to the Atlanta Field Office, where he worked mostly violent street gangs and drug related matters. He was also an Operator on the Atlanta SWAT Team (Enhanced). In October 2007, Doug accepted a promotion and became a Supervisory Special Agent assigned to the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA. Doug was assigned as a Tactical Instructor at the Practical Applications Unit in Hogan's Alley. In addition to his role with training New Agent Trainees, Doug also traveled, both domestically and internationally, in support of the Law Enforcement Training for Safety & Survival (LETSS) Program, teaching street survival schools to law enforcement professionals. In early 2013, in response to the tragic school shooting in Newtown, CT, Doug was part of the initial coordination team that partnered with the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) program out of Texas State University in San Marcos, TX.
