What You'll Learn
This course focuses on the fundamental development of skills and the concealed carry lifestyle. You finally have your concealed carry permit and you’re asking yourself, now what? Or you are participating in our constitutional right to carry without a permit, but want to be better prepared. Maybe you have been carrying for a while now and want to take deliberate steps to improve your skill and readiness.
This course covers:
- Everyday carry items (EDC)
- Carry methods
- Inside the waistband (IWB) vs Outside the waistband (OWB)
- Proper concealment of the firearm
- Clothing considerations for optimal concealment
- Firearm choices for concealment
- Ammunition choices for self defense
- Pistol shooting fundamentals
- How to draw from concealment
- Reloads from concealment
- Weapons retention
- Defensive mindset, situational awareness
- Common pistol malfunctions
- Single hand manipulation
- Skill building tools, dry fire, etc.
- Tourniquet applications
Minimum Requirements / Prerequisites:
- Valid CCW permit / legally able to carry without permit in state of Ohio (Constitutional Carry)
- Satisfactory understanding of safe weapons handling and safety rules
- Open mind and eagerness to learn!
Gear Requirements:
- Ammunition : minimum 300 rds
- IWB or OWB holster (IWB preferred/recommended) *NO Leather or Nylon, NO Serpa
- Reliable Semi-auto Pistol
- At least 2-3 magazines
- Mag carrier/holster
- EDC belt
- Eyes/Ears protection
- Appropriate range attire
- Note taking material
- Water/snacks
- Permanent marker
- Medical / IFAK / Tourniquet
- Weapons maintenance / cleaning equipment
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of the chosen class date in order to receive a credit for a future class.
