JIM-BOB MCCARTY SHOOTING BACKGROUND
- Received Air Force Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge # 224. This was just the 224th badge issued in the Air Force since 1959. Upon my retirement, after twenty-two (22) years on active duty, I was one of only ten Air Force members on active duty authorized to wear this Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge.
- NRA Bullseye Pistol Shooter attaining a personal best of 2664 out of a possible 2700.
- Hold National Rifle Association rating as Lifetime Master, four National Records, was the 1992 National Indoor Pistol Champion, 1994 Texas State Pistol Champion, 1994 National Service Champion,1995 Alabama State Pistol Champion and 1998 President’s Pistol Trophy Match Winner at the National Pistol Championships, Camp Perry, Ohio.
Chosen to represent the Air Force in 10 National Pistol Championships at Camp Perry Ohio. International Pistol Competitions included venues in San Juan, Puerto Rico – Frankfurt, Germany – The Hague, Netherlands – Skovie, Sweden – and Oslo, Norway.
Hold Expert rating in both rifle and pistol from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and U.S. and German Army. Certified Counter-Sniper Instructor.
