Kevin Kolk

Kevin is an active law enforcement officer and the owner of M-82 Armory in Fremont, Michigan. He has been a law enforcement officer since 2009 and is currently assigned as a Detective and the Assistant Team Leader of the area Special Weapons and Tactics Team. He holds many certifications and has been training law enforcement officers for several years.

During his law enforcement career, he has seen the need for citizens to be better prepared for potentially violent encounters and wanted to do his part to help. In 2020, he opened M-82 Armory a business in down town Fremont that primarily engaged in firearm and less-lethal instrument sales. He did this to provide his community and surrounding area with knowledgeable information along with better access to firearms and less-lethal instruments.

After observing that there were many people that were NOT prepared to safely handle let alone own weapons he knew there was more he could do to help prepare people. He was able to quickly discover a way to help, after speaking to many of his customers who seemed to be better prepared. He realized a trend of people who had received knowledgeable training from USCCA instructors. Those customers really seemed to have the tools to supplement their purchases of personal protection equipment.

He began digging into just a fraction of the self-defense educational programs offered by the USCCA and observed all the benefits offered through their liability insurance. He decided that becoming an affiliate would be extremely beneficial not just for his team but his community.

In 2022, he took the next step to become a certified USCCA Instructor to help train citizens to be better prepared for any potentially violent encounters.
