Want to learn about firearms? Turn to First Call firearms for all of your firearms-related needs. We'll teach you everything you need to know to use a gun safely and effectively. Whether it is just for target practice or to stop a threat to you and your loved ones.

Taking a class with us you can expect to learn handgun laws in Maryland, firearm safety, maintenance, and proper use of a firearm so that you can obtain your Maryland Handgun Qualification License and/or your Maryland Wear and Carry Permit.

YOU’LL ONLY WORK WITH TRUE PROFESSIONALS It's important that an experienced firearm instructor monitors each class. Our instructors are USCCA certified and Maryland State Police Qualified Handgun instructors, so you can count on us to be able to answer any questions you may have. At First Call Firearms Training, your safety is our top priority.

"In October 2024 I traveled 2 1/2 hours from out of state to take my Wear and Carry class here. Ed Hunt was the instructor. I was not disappointed in the instruction that I received. There is definitely a lot of material to cover some very interesting and some dry. But whatever he taught, he did it with enthusiasm and passion that keeps you engaged. One thing that really stood out to me was his emphasis on the responsibility that we have to ourselves, family, and the public. He went over recent real world incidents. The scenarios are very eye-opening and show the complexities of making split second decision in armed self defense actions. The emphasis he placed on de-escalation instead of an irrational emotional response. This isn’t Hollywood or a video game, there are no do overs for you or your family. Throughout the class he placed an emphasis on continued training beyond the class. That means physical and mental exercises as well as keeping up on laws in whatever state you are in. Ed’s passion shows in his presentation style and willingness to give extra attention during breaks. Plus he provides a tray of fresh fruit, snacks, coffee, soda and water. Overall First Call Firearms Training is the best choice. Ed has a genuine heart felt concern that people learn how to safely exercise their 2A right responsibly. The materials provided are a plus to take home to help reinforce all that was covered in class. That is part of being a responsible citizen who is armed.
