My Biography
Patrick “Pat” Carpenter
Motto: “Anything worth doing is worth doing right the first time.”
Or “How much can we make off that?”
Or “Does this look infected?”
Born to a family with a history of veterans, Pat was raised by a single mother in a less-than-safe area. He grew up with a gift for martial arts and athletics and often captained the teams of which he was a part. Being raised by a Chief Financial Officer, he learned very young how to run numbers, manage and mentor employees, and engage with all levels of personnel. He has held many positions of employment including finance, marketing, US Army, residential construction, and telecommunications. The latter as lead trainer at one of the nation’s largest communications providers. He re-wrote his division’s entire training platform, manuals, and methods so new employees, with little to no experience, could easily understand and perform their job duties. His current “day-job” is an owner of a small retail business where continual leadership, mentorship, and training is conducted daily. Pat is an avid firearms hobbyist and enjoys helping/teaching others firearm safety, responsibility, and fun. He is also looking to turn his talents towards local competitions.
He co-founded Chalet Firearms Training with the goal to provide the best firearms training so firearms owners will have the knowledge to keep themselves physically, legally, morally, and financially safe. Our students are inspired to exceed the standards in firearms safety, competency, and confidence.
Disheartened by seeing lawful gun owners struggle at a firing range and dissatisfied with most training (offered locally) that merely “meets the minimum standards”, we decided to help this broad and diverse community. Recognizing the USCCA as a premier source of education (and affordable comprehensive insurance coverage), we utilize the USCCA as a vehicle to reach our goals. While living in one of the more firearms-restrictive states in our great country provided additional challenges, USCCA made this process not only more attainable but more rewarding.
USCCA provided a great foundational curriculum from which we were able to add our extensive backgrounds and experience to produce our own curriculum that is educational, engaging, challenging, with a heavy focus on hands-on training. Our greatest reward isn’t our students’ success on the range but instead is their newly found appreciation and dedication to improving their skills while most importantly having fun. The quality of our training is evident during our range time when students are genuinely happy and excited to qualify.
