My Biography
I am a mama of three little girls and love them fiercely. I have always felt driven to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves or wanted to ensure that a bully never won. I believe this instinct led me to my decision to serve. I enlisted in the Air Force as a Security Forces member in 2003 until 2007. I then went part-time as a reservist in the USAF from 2007-2020. For the last 8 years as a reservist, I was a Combat Arms Instructor (firearms instructor). In this capacity, I learned how to teach in all kinds of environments. I learned proper maintenance, handling, and mechanical functions of different styles, makes and models of weaponry. I’m honored to have deployed to Iraq from 2009-2010. Experiences and camaraderie like non-other. I recently took a position at my children’s school as a School Resource Officer. I had to resign after 13 years as an Indiana State Trooper, however, this has been one of the most rewarding decisions I ever made. I have the opportunity to protect all these children and be apart of my own children’s life while still contributing to my household, being a mom, and feeling valued. I believe it is possible to be a lady and be taken seriously at the same time. I want to empower, not just women, but anyone willing to carry a firearm. Safety and preparedness are my top priority. I hope to never have to use the skills I have learned over my life, but if I do, that one time may save someone’s life. I love teaching and seeing the reaction and pride after a hard days work in the classroom and on the range.
