What You'll Learn

The first step in protecting yourself and your loved ones is developing situational awareness. Situational Awareness addresses threat recognition, avoidance, escape, and defense. It is important to have the ability to interpret one’s environment, recognize your options, and know how the law applies if force is needed to defend yourself or another. Situational Awareness provides you with the information needed to develop a personal safety plan whether at home or in public. Equipment Needed: None, classroom only.

Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.

What We'll Teach

Developing a Personal Plan & Home Protection Plan

Developing a personal & home protection plan is a key component of not only preparing for how we should (or might) react if confronted by a violent crime, but also how we might avoid violent crime in the first place. Within this lesson, Michael Martin explains that developing a protection plan is about much more than becoming proficient with a firearm or writing up a home invasion plan. It’s a plan that must encompass awareness, avoidance, and preparation, so that we’re less likely to find ourselves in a situation where we have no other option than to use our firearm, rather than more likely.
