DEFENSIVE SHOTGUN CLASS

$155 (student supplies ammunition)

The shotgun is a proven and highly effective weapon and is legal in all 50 states.

In this class, you will learn solid techniques for preparing you and your shotgun for defensive purposes.

This will include safety, loading and unloading, modifications to consider, storage, ready positions, and ammunition choices. Using dummy rounds and birdshot students will go through multiple manipulations and strings of fire and end with 10 rounds of buckshot to confirm the effective range of their individual shotgun with their choice of ammunition.

Students need to bring: A pump-action or semi-auto shotgun. (There will be a couple of rentals available, see contact info below)

Slings are allowed but are not necessary to attend in class

50 to 75 rounds of birdshot. (50 will work, bring 75 if you want to shoot a little more)

10 rounds of buckshot, if you have it. (Federal Flite Control 8 pellet 00 buckshot is strongly recommended if you can obtain it)

A way to carry spare ammo on either your shotgun or your person. This can be any combination of side-saddle, butt cuff, dump pouch, or at minimum loose-fitting pants with generous pockets.

Comfortable clothing and shoes. NO flip flops, open toes shoes, or low-cut tops.

Baseball style cap or visor.

Safety glasses and hearing protection. (I recommend doubling up with both earplugs and muffs.)
