What You'll Learn
Agencies: Fresno County, Kings County, Tulare County and Kern County.
Location: Live-fire at Lemoore Sportsman's Club followed by classroom work at Calvary Chapel - Hanford. Detail agenda to be sent by way of e-mail prior to the course.
Overview: This comprehensive 8-hour, 1-day course will provide CCW permit holders with a refresher on important self-defense fundamentals including the development of a personal and home defense plan, situational awareness, conflict avoidance, the legal aspects of using deadly force, the physiology of violent encounters and what to expect in the aftermath of a self-defense incident. Instructor led simulations will be used to reinforce learning objectives.
Benefits: As a student, you will learn the latest and greatest information related to concealed carry, home defense, mental health and firearms, as well as key legislative updates. Completion of the course will provide you with the required knowledge to renew your CCW permit while advancing your safety and confidence to act as the first line of defense for yourself or your family in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident outside the home.

Format: Classroom + Range
Test: You will be required to complete a written test in accordance with state guidelines.
Live Fire: You will be required to pass a live fire qualification for your county of residence for each gun you submit on your application. Live fire will occur at Lemoore Sportsman’s Club and requires a $20/day non-member pass. Local residents are encouraged to purchase a $120/year annual family pass to build their confidence and skills through regular practice.
Textbook: Michael Martin’s “Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals – 2nd Edition” forms the basis for most of what is taught in the course and is available for purchase. The book covers crucial topics like understanding conflict avoidance and situational awareness, handgun, and shotgun basics, shooting fundamentals, the physiology of violent confrontations and the legal characteristics of using deadly force. Recognized as the official textbook of USCCA classrooms, this easy-to-read guide provides full access on what gear you should wear, what gadgets you should use, and how you should train for self-defense situations.
Registration: Registration is online only. Upon completion of registration, you will receive follow-up emails guiding you through the process of preparing for and getting the most from the course.
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
