My Biography
Dr. Tim Calvin has a doctorate in Organizational Change and Administration from California Baptist University (CBU). Dr. Calvin is a certified USCCA, NRA, DOJ, and BSIS Firearms Instructor. He is also an 8th-degree black belt and owner of Split Second Response: Personal Protection, where they teach Kickboxing, Krav Maga, and Arnis (stick fighting).
In addition, Dr. Calvin is an American Red Cross (ARC) and Health and Safety Institute (HSI) First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor, a BSIS Baton Instructor, an AVERT Active Shooter Instructor, an AVERT Active Shooter Instructor Trainer, an Axon Taser Instructor, an ASP: Baton and Handcuffing Instructor, an NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO), and an NRA Refuse To Be A Victim (RTBAV) Instructor.
Dr. Calvin is also a former police officer. Dr. Calvin worked for the Oakland Police Department for two years, working one year on patrol and one year as an undercover narcotics officer. Dr. Calvin worked for the Novato Police Department for six years, where he worked as a S.W.A.T. Officer, Defensive Tactics Instructor, and ASP Baton Instructor.
