"My journey started with one of the free Women’s Personal Safety classes, and from that very first session, I knew I had found the right instructors. Julie was incredibly welcoming and supportive, and she also introduced me to A Girl and A Gun, which has been an amazing community. When I had questions, I reached out to the contact number—yes, it was Julie’s personal number—and she always responded quickly and kindly, never making me feel uncomfortable for asking anything. That level of care and commitment is rare and so appreciated. Right away, I signed my daughter up for A Girl and A Gun, and that decision led me to register us both for the Women’s Beginner Handgun Level 1 class as a way to introduce her to firearms in a safe, respectful, and empowering environment. I can’t say enough about this class—it was educational, confidence-boosting, and so well-run. Both Julie and her husband Steve were incredible instructors. Steve played a huge role in helping us understand the fundamentals with clear instruction and patience, and together they created a supportive space for learning. What stood out most was how this experience helped build my daughter’s confidence. She left the class beaming, hasn’t stopped talking about it, and even told her dad she wants a Glock 19! If you’re a mom or dad thinking about how to introduce your child to firearms the right way, this is it. Learning from trusted professionals who lead with safety, responsibility, and encouragement makes all the difference. It’s an experience that not only builds skill but also strengthens bonds. We can’t wait to keep learning and expand on the skills we’ve started building here. Highly recommend—this isn’t just a class, it’s the beginning of a truly empowering journey."
