This 4-hour course offers both live fire range time and a digital force option simulator to provide comprehensive re-qualification training.

Course Overview The BSIS Firearms Re-qualification course is a mandatory training program for armed security professionals who need to renew their Exposed Firearms Permit. This course ensures that participants continue to meet the standards set by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS). The training includes practical live fire exercises to cover all necessary aspects of firearm use and safety.

Course Highlights 4-Hour Intensive Training: This course is designed to be completed in a concise 4-hour session, allowing participants to efficiently renew their qualifications.

Live Fire Range Time: Practical training on the shooting range to ensure proficiency and accuracy in firearm handling and marksmanship.

Use of Force Simulator: Practical training on real-life simulations to ensure proficiency in the use of force decision-making.

BSIS Compliance: The course fully complies with BSIS requirements for maintaining Exposed Firearms Qualifications, ensuring that all participants meet the necessary legal standards.

Detailed Curriculum Introduction and Overview: Briefing on the importance of re-qualification and an overview of the course structure. Review of BSIS requirements and standards for Exposed Firearms Qualifications.

Firearms Safety Refresher: Revisiting the fundamentals of firearm safety. Ensuring proper handling, loading, unloading, and storage procedures.

Legal and Ethical Use of Force: Refresher on the legal parameters and ethical considerations of using force. Updates on any changes in laws or regulations regarding firearms use.

Live Fire Range Training: Practical exercises on the shooting range. Focus on accuracy, control, and safe handling of the firearm. Conducting live fire drills to assess proficiency. Practicing decision-making under pressure and appropriate use of force. Evaluating performance and providing feedback for improvement.

Assessment and Certification: Final assessment to ensure all participants meet the requalification standards.

Issuance of requalification certification upon successful completion.

Cancellation Policy: You may request to cancel your ticket for a full refund, up to 72 hours before the date and time of the event. Cancellations between 25-72 hours before the event may be transferred to a different date/time of the same class. Cancellation requests made within 24 hours of the class date/time may not receive a refund or a transfer. When you register for a class, you agree to these terms.

What We'll Teach

Introduction to Defensive Shooting Fundamentals

In this introduction course you will learn proper Defensive Shooting Fundamentals. Your instructor will help you build your foundation to include, grip, stance, kinesthetic alignment, all the way up to firing 3 to 5 rounds efficiently and effectively to neutralize the threat. Drills Include: Safety, Comfort, Competency Concepts, Medical, Extend-Touch-Press, Up through Up Multiples, Balance of Speed and Precision.

Range Fees are not included and will be collected in cash on the day of the range qualification.
