Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive classroom course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. If you are new to handguns, this is a great introduction to everything you need to know to start your self-protection journey.
This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
In this class you will first receive one on one instruction in basic firearm safety and handling in the classroom setting. You do not need to bring your firearm into the classroom when you arrive. We ask that you leave it safely locked in your vehicle until we ask you to retrieve it at the firing range. After the classroom instruction we will begin our training on the firing range. You will be briefed on firing range rules and expectations before you use the range. Once on the range you will first use a student designated firearm provided by the Instructor, with a hands on opportunity to better understand the safe use of a handgun. Once that portion has established that you are safely handling the student handgun, you will be able to receive instruction and practice using your own firearm. (This may take two or three rounds fired or a magazine or two, each individual comes to us with different levels of experience) The rest of the lesson time is devoted to making you a safe and knowledgeable shooter with the handgun you choose to use. The Instructor usually brings firearms of different calibers if you wanted to try one to help you to decide if there might be a different caliber or size that better suits your hand size, physical aspects, or ability to conceal. The Instructor gives you one on one guidance for all of this.
