I just learned about the USCCA last night, while reading the February, 2006 issue of the Rifleman. Your association sounds like just what we need. I joined for 3 years and also ordered the CD with the back issues of the magazine. I am looking forward to my membership.
I sent an e-mail with a link to your website to all like-minded people in my address book. There are many of them. Most of my family have concealed carry permits, including my wife, my son, my daughter-in-law, my brother, my sister-in-law and some of my friends. I grew up in the woods and have hunted all my life. I shot competitively for 15 years, in college and the military, and held NRA Certified Marksmanship Instructor ratings in rifle, pistol and shotgun.
My brother has been in the gun business for years and used a sidearm to save his life when an intruder snuck up behind him in one of his stores and stabbed him several times with an Air Force survival knife. He was finally able to kick free enough to pull his weapon and properly dispatch him to Hell.
Thank you for what you have done and are continuing to do to advance the cause of safety for the people. I hope “our” association will continue to grow and spread the word to law-abiding citizens and to the criminals as well.
