Smith&Wesson announced the new “Shield” product today. It is, as I had hoped, a thin version of the M&P rather than an enlarged Bodyguard. Not quite everything I had on my wish list, the barrel is only 3.1″ for example, but it has what seems to have been missing in the “thin” market until recently, a decent trigger and a reasonable weight (19oz). Definitely not a “target pistol” but I think it will prove to be a far more usable weapon than guns like the Ruger LC9, Beretta Nano and Kimber Solo. It is available in 9mm and .40.
I see this and the Springfield XDs as very promising developments in the world of concealed carry.
Does anyone have experience with the N82 Tactical holsters or the Fusionpact by Tactipact holster they are selling on Ebay! The latter has it’s own belt and is made of some sort of blue jean material…Thanks in advance for your help!
