What a fantastic time to be a gun owner and CCW holder in America. I will touch on this more in later columns, but want to mention here that while I say it’s a grand time to be a CCW holder, I believe we shouldn’t have to have a concealed carry permit in the first place. It (CCW license) in and of itself is an infringement on our rights by its very design. Ok, I got that out of the way, so I’ll continue (I just wanted to let you know my true feelings). CCW exists, for now, so we make due until we can fully restore our rights, which does not include a government permission slip. Until then, we deal with the hand we’ve been dealt.
Having said that, we saw a huge step in the right direction on Tuesday, the first day of the 115th Congress. North Carolina Republican (imagine that) Representative Richard Hudson introduced the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, officially known as H.R. 38. This bill will require each state to recognize the civil rights of another state’s resident to carry a firearm for their personal protection across state lines — with no fear of reprisal. It’s about damn time. To be sure, this never stood a chance under an Obama regime but will pass under the current Congress. Trump will sign it, and it will become law. The Democrats will stomp their feet and scream like children to no avail. It will become law, and none of their doom and gloom predictions will come to pass.
To the victors go the spoils.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is what offense looks like. No more whining, no more defense, no more being talked down to because we choose to exercise our civil right to defend ourselves, and no more lies from anti-rights bigots. Make sure to tune in to the monster show this weekend when I’ll be talking about this bill in detail with an amazing on-air lineup of experts. I’ll see ya on the radio!
