Grew up in a law enforcement/ hunting household. Bought my fisrst rifle at 15 from a friend. Always knew how important the 2nd amendment was to this nation. Learned from stories that there were those who would take their positions of power and try everything in the book to stop us from exercising or right(s) and conform us to their visions (sounds like Hitler, communism, and Castro doesn’t it). We KNEW that they would succeed if it went to a battle of monetary attrition. Figured we had better get some help there. The additional benefits we receive were only apparent after we joined. Hard to imagine not being a member, now.

Had an odd person come into the campground while deer hunting. He was hiding that he was armed. I have owned guns my entire life. Started USCCA because my wife and I obtained a CCW while living in Caifornia.

My dad has worked his entire career in the shooting sports industry which gave him great opportunities to build a decent gun collection. He taught me to use them responsibly from a very young age. My parents gave me several guns over the years while I was growing up and my wife and I recently purchased her first concealed firearm now that she is licensed. I first heard about USCCA from a strange truck driver. I honestly consider him slightly crazy, but he told me about how the USCCA has your back if you find yourself in a self defense situation. Jump forward a couple of years to August 2023, I met one of my dad's customers in Ohio at their gun shop. They invited my wife and I to dinner and told us about the USCCA and gave us the July 2023 Concealed Carry magazine. I procrastinated reading the magazine for a while, but eventually read a few pages. I knew I need to become a member, and I didn't want to disappoint my new friends (dad's customers), so i finally because a member. It gives me a great sense of security knowing that my wife and I members of a great organization that has the same values that they want to protect as we do.

Started the membership because, life is unpredictable and you never know when your safety will be challenged/ threaten and one need to be prepared.

Everything except the incessant ads for USCCA-FSL, which I refuse to support, and the repeating emails and texts urging me to join the USCCA. Your own records will show I've been a member for years - I don't need to receive additional recruitment materials.

Worked security for a few years in El Paso Texas. Was on a few sites real close to the border at that time. When I moved to Central Texas, I had kept my side arm, and decided to get a concealed carry license later when my current boss sent me to the border to meet with customers. I currently work on boats instead of doing security now, but still remember a lot of my experiences on the border, and keep a fire arm on me when I go. Not really necessary where I currently live, or work. But you never know. I also have delt with a half brother that had mental issues, and acquired a firearm during the time that I had to take care of him. Of course I took it away from him, but at the same time. If he can get a hold of one...
