Because our country is getting to many people coming across the border. Not safe under this administration of woke agenda.

As a Pastor I purchased and learned to use a gun due to the idea that churches and houses of worship are considered “soft targets” for those who plot to do evil. I joined USCCA primarily for the benefit of attorney representation in the event I’m involved in a shooting.

when everything started getting crazier about three years ago .At that time I was 78 years old and able to get around but with all of the shootings going on I just thought I needed protection for my wife and myself

There never was any particular event that started me wanting to carry for self defense. It just seemed like a good idea. It was quite a while before Michigan became "shall issue" and not "may issue". The main reason I joined USCCA was for the insurance coverage, and being able to contact a lawyer who knew what he was doing if I ever needed one. So far, that has not come up, and I hope it never does.

I joined the Navy in 1954, and I have carried a .45 ever since. I am 90 years old now, so I can't physically help other that might need help, so my .45 makes me feel that I can still help or protect someone else. I joined the USCCA to get better informed on all aspects of self protection.

I was raised by a WWII Navy Combat Crewman on a farm in Michigan. I was taught at young age about gun safety, how to shoot, and hunt. Almost every truck on the farm had a long gun in it to use to protect our livestock and for self defense. I had been around hand guns and shot them but never gave it much thought about carrying one. That is until a close encounter late one night when I was called out to an hazmat incident on a deserted back road. A car with four men in it rolled up on me and appeared they were looking for a fight. Luckly I was able to talk my way out of what could have become a bad situation for me. I decided at that point was going no long put off getting my concealed carry license. At the class I took I was introduced to USCCA and made the decision that if I was going to carry I should have a partner to protect me if and when I have to pull the trigger. Since then my wife (whom did not like guns) has gotten her CCL and is also a member of USCCA.

I have been a gun owner for many years and became an elite USCCA member when Illinois became a concealed carry state.

I was unloading my van in my driveway late one evening after a Sam's Club trip when two young men approached. I had seen them walking toward me from two blocks away and had initially considered waiting inside my home to let them pass before finishing unloading. I should have. When they got to me, I gave them a friendly greeting. They responded by pointing two .380 caliber pistols in my face and robbing me. Fortunately, robbing me was all they did. My wife and I immediately purchased our own pistols and qualified for our concealed carry permits. Now, I am carrying unless in a gun-free zone.
