Not sure if a U.S. Concealed Carry membership is for you? Well, here is what our members have to say! U.S. Concealed Carry
"Member Testimonials" Dear U.S. Concealed Carry, Kudos on another great issue, May-2005. It's full of great and relevant information. I'm especially impressed with your journalistic integrity as reflected by George Hill's excellent review of the Springfield Ultra Compact 1911. His honesty is refreshing. I have no doubt that had he submitted that article to any other magazine (save one that takes no advertising, but doesn't accept outside tests), it would never have made it to print in the form that it did. Not only is George highly entertaining as a writer, but he tells it like it is and pulls no punches. We all know the drill; read a raving review in one of the main line publications, get excited (at least those of us with 1911 fever), rush out and buy one, only to find that it doesn't work. It's not just Springfield (and I share George's enthusiasm for their products), but just about all of them. To be sure, Springfield is super on after-purchase service. But, terrific as they are, that doesn't overcome the fact that the gun ought to be ready to go out of the box. Please make sure George reviews the small Springfield 1911 in .45 GAP after it comes out later this year. I think I speak for all of us when I say that we trust him. Dr. Neal Trent

**************** Dear U.S. Concealed Carry,
I congratulate you for creating U.S. Concealed Carry and Concealed Carry Magazine, and that you are still surviving! Before CCW became commonly lawful across the country, magazines like Guns&Ammo and American Handgunner from the 80's and early 90's, would discuss concealed carry... but their editorial posture was so prudish towards decent people carrying illegally, that their tone seemed oriented to an audience of police and detectives only. I have been a subscriber since last year and I find Concealed Carry Magazine and U.S. Concealed Carry to be more substantial, and more directly oriented to decent people like me. It is much more focused than any other defense or gun-oriented magazine. Karl George,

**************** Dear U.S. Concealed Carry,
I just finished reading my first issue of Concealed Carry Magazine, and it was fantastic! I really enjoyed the article, "Armed Senior Citizen" by Bruce Eimer. Even though I am not a senior citizen (I am 48), I could relate to a recent run-in on my property at 2:30 a.m.. I was able to evaluate my performance and lessons learned after reading the article. I thought all the articles were great and informative. I can not wait until my next issue. David Benson
Bakersfield, CA **************** Dear U.S. Concealed Carry,
I consider your publication the most informative and focused on the issue of concealed carry. Having it in my house has allowed me to address several individuals' questions about concealed carry and what their responsibilities are as citizens. Most importantly, my wife's opinion about carrying for herself has been turned around totally, such that now she is scheduled to take a CCW class after the holidays, and she has begun going to the range with me to practice. Given her travels around the busy city of Houston in her occupation, knowing she can protect herself gives me a lot of peace of mind. I attribute this change in her attitude entirely to your publication. Scott Meador
Richmond, TX **************** Dear U.S. Concealed Carry,
I just went to your site for the 1st time and I'm truly thrilled that you've put all this together--the site, the magazine, the e-mail newsletter, all of it. I've had a carry permit for about 6 years now. I live in Montana. Like you, there's very little crime where I live. However, several years ago, I moved to Missoula for 15 months. After residing there only two and one half weeks, two very large (over 6 ft.) 22-year-old college students tried to break into my home. Had I not had a gun for self-defense, I wouldn't be alive today. This incident caused me to get a gun instructor, join the local gun club, practice often, and get the carry permit. Sadly, my mom is 84 and needs me soon. She lives in California, where it's almost impossible to get a carry permit, but where a person really needs one! Even a high school friend who's now an attorney has been turned down for a carry permit there. Not having a carry permit is weighing heavily on me, concerning moving back to California. Again, thank you so much for putting your organization together. This is something I want to be a part of. Kay
**************** Dear U.S. Concealed Carry,
I have received several issues and I am thoroughly convinced that Concealed Carry Magazine would be the ONE magazine to choose if only one magazine was allowed to each person! I just put up a post to those of us in "Nebraska Gun Owners" yahoo group recommending the magazine. I even said that I'd send one of my copies to the first person who provided any sort of postal address. Thank you for placing one article right after the next, rather than having us page through the entire magazine to finish one article. Also, thank you for providing the content that you do! One recommendation to improve your magazine: make it with more content! I hate finishing CCM just as one hates finishing their favorite dessert... Steve
Omaha, NE **************** Dear U.S. Concealed Carry,
Let me say, your magazine is one of 14 subscriptions that I receive. Obviously, I like to read anything and everything I can get my hands on. I will not renew some of my other magazine subscriptions, but CCM is a definite keeper. I love it and everything about it. Your columns are informative and to the point. Every person on your staff does a perfect job. I received my magazine yesterday and read it twice already because it's that good! The writers do a superb job on every article in every issue. How can you possibly beat that? You can't. And, the covers are perfect. Ordinary people for the ordinary person just like me and those like me who can relate to that. Most of us don't want the "hubbub." We want down to earth people with down to earth facts and you deliver. Thanks to everyone for a great job. Cindy Laudico

**************** Dear U.S. Concealed Carry,
First, I want to say that CCM is one of the best magazines out today and thank everyone on the staff for the excellent work! I was reading the current issue, Vol. 2/Issue 3, and something caught my eye, which is what made me decide to write this letter. I wanted to say that when it comes to carrying a certain type of ammo, it is probably a good idea to find out what local law enforcement uses, and carry the same ammo. If you have to use your firearm in a self defense situation, and you take some ones life using a +P round, the State would have a field day, saying that your previous intent was to kill! I think if you just stick with the same ammo as law enforcement, you will be less likely for such a loophole. Tim Meredyk

**************** Dear U.S. Concealed Carry,
For years, I searched for a type of magazine like yours and have subscribed to several other publications completely unsatisfied with the lack of information about carrying concealed firearms, until I found yours. I am a detention deputy (correctional officer). As a detention deputy, I deal with societies most violent and dangerous people. It's not uncommon for inmates to threaten myself or other correctional officers while we carry out our duties as jail officers. Since inmates have nothing else better to do while they are in jail, they have all the time in the world to study our faces and habits so they can easily recognize us once they return to society. On several occasions, former inmates have recognized and approached me when I was off duty with my family. It is for this reason that, years ago, I chose to carry a concealed firearm with me when I'm off duty. Many correctional officers, including myself, were never trained how to safely carry a concealed firearm when we attended the corrections academy. Since many correctional officers have no special arresting powers, the thought of us carrying firearms off duty was never considered while we were in training. After reading just one issue of Concealed Carry Magazine, I've become more knowledgeable in carrying my firearms concealed and concealment holsters than I have in 6 years worth of reading other firearm magazine publications. As a new subscriber, I'm very excited and looking forward to many years of valuable information from Concealed Carry. Michael Drake
