Concealed Carry on a Motorcycle
Marty Hayes, JD
Concealed Carry on a Motorcycle I have several passions in my life: One is, of course, teaching people how to use firearms for self defense, including teaching the laws surrounding that activity. Another passion is golf. There are not too many places I would rather be on a nice sunny afternoon in June than on the tee getting ready to smash the little white golf ball 280 yards. (Okay ... 260 yards, but I did hit it 280 once!) My third passion, and one which I have pursued since I was a teenager, is motorcycle riding. I have ridden motorcycles my whole adult life, and can't imagine life without my two wheeled steeds at my beck and call. And, since I can't imagine life without carrying a pistol either, I have managed to work the two into my life without a great degree of trouble. I want to share how I do it, as I know many people have the same requirement. . . . keep reading
Zero Tolerance: the Invasion of the Brain Snatchers
Bruce A. Beatty

Marie Morrow, Honors student, Young Marine, and Drill Team Commander at Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora, Colorado, knows how it feels.

So does Jeffery Maxwell, and honorably discharged (I never did like the term "ex") Marine and veteran of the war on terror in Iraq.

And, of all people, suspended Wisconsin schoolteacher Betsy Ramsdale.

All have become the latest victims of the incredibly stupid war on sanity and common sense also known as "Zero Tolerance." Zero Tolerance really came into vogue with the . . . keep reading

Personal Boundaries: Where Do You Draw the Line?
Kathy Jackson
Personal Boundaries: Where Do You Draw the Line?

Listed below are some conditions under which I intend to fight back even if I don't think I can win.

I have made this list for myself because I understand that the natural thing to do, when something bad happens, is to deny that it is happening: "This can't be happening to me!"

Even if you get past that thought (a lot of victims never do), the other natural tendency is to tell yourself that if you wait, if you do what the other person says, things will get better. The situation will work itself out. All you have to do is cooperate. The attacker will take your wallet, your car keys, whatever, and leave you alone. Just wait, do what he says, and everything will . . . keep reading

Seven Reasons NOT to Conceal Carry
J. Terry Stewart

Seven reasons NOT to get a carry permit and carry a concealed weapon ...

7. Wardrobe

Once you start to carry you need to always be aware of whether your clothing does an adequate job of covering your holster. If you elect to get a permit, it allows you to carry a concealed weapon. If it's not concealed, why bother with a permit? Whatever you wear, you must check to see whether the gun is . . . keep reading

(Calguns alert) Oral Arguments in the Nordyke case will be held January 15, 2009
(Calguns alert) Oral Arguments in the Nordyke case will be held January 15, 2009 The Calguns Foundation would like to invite you to the Oral Arguments in the Nordyke case.

Nordyke is the case that will make the landmark DC v Heller case apply to California. This means an individual right to firearm ownership.

It is quite important for the actual Nordyke appeal that we pack the courtroom and the overflow. Our counsel would like to be able point out the large number of "The People" sitting in the courtroom that day who believe . . . keep reading

Concealed Carry Will Be Allowed in National Parks and Wildlife Refuges
Concealed Carry Will Be Allowed in National Parks and Wildlife Refuges

The US Department of the Interior announced its final firearms policy update Friday, December 5, 2008. Under the new policy, concealed carry of firearms will be allowed in national parks and wildlife refuges beginning at the time the rule goes into effect sometime before Barack Obama takes office on January 20.

The press release from the US DOI reads as follows . . . keep reading

California, Orange County Crisis: Your Help Needed!
Greg Goodall
California, Orange County Crisis: Your Help Needed! As many of those who participate in the USCCA Forum already know, the recently appointed sheriff of Orange County, California (Sandra Hutchens, formerly of the LA County Sheriff's Department) has begun revoking CCW on a large scale, and without cause. On November 18, the Orange County Board of Supervisors will be addressing the newly appointed Sheriff to discuss the controversy surrounding her new highly-restrictive CCW Policy.

Anyone with an interest in preserving their CCW rights and privileges is highly encouraged to attend the meeting and make their presence felt! The Board must . . . keep reading

If You Bought a Gun This Week ...
Kathy Jackson
If You Bought a Gun This Week ... If you bought a gun this week, you're not alone. While exact figures aren't yet available, gun stores across the nation reported record-breaking sales in the days following the national election.

"Sales have been… well… brisk. Maybe a better word would be insane. We've sold out of everything three times over, and we're bringing in more guns as fast as we can find them and call in favors. If you're waiting for something, let's put this in perspective. I talked to Stag the day before the election and they had received orders for 6,000 rifles in the last few days. They were out 4 weeks [backordered], and that was before" the election, reports Larry Correia of FBMG, Inc., a gun store near Salt Lake City, Utah. When I talked to him Saturday night, he added that sales had only gone up since the blog entry that quote came from was written, and that Saturday had been their biggest sales day in the history of the store.

FBMG was not alone in that. According to an AP report, on Election Day, Franklin Gun Shop (near Nashville, Tennessee) experienced . . . keep reading

Course Review: Storm Mountain Handgun III
Todd Burgreen
Course Review: Storm Mountain Handgun III If there were only one piece of advice I could give readers, it is to receive professional training in the use of firearms intended for personal defense. Going to the range and firing a a box of shells is relaxing and verifies basic shooting skills, but does nothing to prepare yourself for the dreaded day when you are presented with a life or death situation. I recently returned from an advanced . . . keep reading
The Constitutional Right and Social Obligation to Carry a Gun
Robert H. Boatman
The Constitutional Right and Social Obligation to Carry a Gun The framers of the Constitution were under no pressure from the NRA when they wrote "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." In the same spare sentence, they reaffirmed their historical preference for . . . keep reading

 TESTIMONIALS
Here's what our members are saying ...
"Your website and magazine have many helpful articles and most importantly, an opportunity to hear from like-minded people who take self protection seriously. For many of us that carry it has been both an "evolution" from thinking about carrying to a full-time commit-ment and a "revelation" that we can enjoy freedom to protect our loved ones from attack.
Norbert Quenzer
Delmar, NY

U.S. Concealed Carry addresses absolutely every self-defense issue of concern to intelligent Americans today, provides vital information regarding products, services and organizations relevant to concealed carry and communicates critical self-defense information.
William M. Splawn
Irmo, SC

I am writing to express my complete satisfaction with U.S. Concealed Carry. I find your no-nonsense, real world focus, to be a refreshing change from other gun publications. I found the CCM Profiles to be especially good. It was good to see other concerned citizens speaking out on CCW matters. It makes the rest of us feel less like “gun nuts” and more like a community of concerned and squared away citizens.
Keith Robb
Cuyahoga Falls, OH

Just a quick note to let you know that I really appreciate what you are doing and the courage it has taken for you to be “just a regular guy” who cares enough to do something worth doing! You are to be congratulated for your commitment and your convictions. Both have motivated me to do all I can to “spread the word” and to “protect our rights.”
