Dear Friend,

I hope you all had a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend! I know I sure did. And is it just me, or does it seem like there are fewer and fewer days between 'Labor Days' every year??

The first week of September is no laughing matter! Soon the leaves will be swirling around, and before we know it, those of us 'up north' be shoveling our cars out of snow banks… Scary thoughts! In searching for a video of the week that could live up to this occasion, I came across this...

Video of the Week
Every week I bring you a new video that I find online, be it hilarious, informative, or downright compelling. Enjoy!

If you want to get pumped up... WATCH THIS VIDEO!

Warning: The picture quality of this video is extremely bad... But as you'll quickly see (no pun intended!), it's not the picture that is important. It is the voice behind it.

My God, is that not a powerful message?!
Do your fellow gun owners a favor, and send this video to someone who supports Gun Control!

Show them this awesome video!

For this week's Feature Article I've got a motivating article, written by a man who faces the same dilemmas that we all face in our daily personal protection needs. Mostly a wake-up call to companies that bar their employees from protecting themselves, but it's still great reading, and an interesting perspective!

"A Pizza Delivery Driver's View of Gun Control"
by George Combs II
thegame@cinci.rr.com
November 5, 2003

KeepAndBearArms.com -- I have been a longtime advocate of unrestricted firearms ownership. I believe that the Second Amendment is clear, despite the contention of gun control advocates. Moreover, the writings of the Founders of this nation are explicit. They intended America to be a free society, and one where the right to keep and bear arms was not to be infringed for any reason.

In one sentence, I believe that gun control creates needless victims.

According to the Bureau of Labor statistics, pizza delivery is ranked #5 on the list of occupations with the highest mortality rates. (The list can be found here: http://money.cnn.com/2003/10/13/pf/dangerousjobs/index.htm?cnn=yes.) My occupation is right behind timber cutters, fishers, pilots, and structural metal workers. Incidentally, law enforcement officers and firefighters didn't crack the top ten. Does this not speak volumes?

On Wednesday, November 4, 2003, I submitted an article to KeepAndBearArms.com's Newslinks entitled: "Pizza deliveryman gunned down at west Phoenix apartments." As the editor stated, Domino's Pizza indeed has a strict policy of no armed drivers. He used the word "disarmed" and said "Domino's has blood on their hands." I can't argue with that. In fact, not only does Domino's have such a policy, but all the major chains, plus most of the regional chains and 'mom & pop'-type stores, too.

The official Domino's policy concerning robbers is: 'Don't provoke, don't resist.' What choice do we have, pray tell? This is a job that pays a low base wage; a lot of our money is in tips and mileage reimbursement. No one wants to get hurt or killed over a pizza and a few measly dollars, so drivers will readily give them up. But there are criminals and would-be criminals who simply won't be appeased by that. They want to hurt and kill. It really is that simple.

Domino's says we should do callbacks on every single suspicious order. But at high-volume stores where the phone is ringing off the hook and we're told to get the orders delivered and get back quickly to the store to take more pizzas to customers, callbacks aren't really feasible. Most drivers, myself included, have cell phones, but you still can't tell what a customer's intentions are. I discussed the armed drivers issue with a former manager some time ago, and he said was opposed to it because it would scare customers to have a driver with a gun standing on their front porch. Mind you, this was in a city with a high crime area. When the Rodney King incident hit the news, there was a riot there that night. A police car was overturned and three people were killed. Two drivers came back to the store with damage to their cars -- one with a shattered windshield because someone had thrown a cinder block through it. Thankfully, neither was hurt. And the manager was worried about scared customers? Besides, who's talking about drivers strapping a gun around their waists a'la Clint Eastwood in those old spaghetti westerns? Concealed carry would give drivers a proven defensive tool while not attracting attention. That's the idea of carrying concealed weapons.

Avni Dobratiqi didn't see his killer. And even if he had, I doubt the outcome would have been any different. The same goes for people like Barry Schrader, Precious Canter, El Said Abed, Robin Ballard, Nabeel Siddiqui and Brion Barrett. These people were pizza delivery drivers who were killed, and none of them stood a chance against their assailants.

I don't want to become a statistic, and I don't want to see another innocent human being become a statistic needlessly.

In talking to other drivers, many of whom say they support concealed carry, I've learned many don't want to carry one themselves. One of the major reasons was that carrying a concealed gun would be "uncomfortable." Hold the phone! If you think carrying a gun under your shirt is uncomfortable, realize that it's a lot more comfortable than getting shot, stabbed or hit in the face with a baseball bat.

There is one truth about a free society: A free society is one where the lawful have the greatest possible advantage over the lawless. Or at least a fighting chance.

It's high time people learn it.

Gun and Gear Review
Here we go! My favorite part of every "Tip of the Week". This is where we get to look at some neat and interesting guns and gear.

This week, I'm going to tell you about another DVD (or VHS if you prefer) that is a 'must have' in any gun owners collection. Do you remember a couple weeks ago, when I showed you that JPFO film, "The Gang"? Well, they made another movie long before they made "The Gang".

It's called Innocents Betrayed.

This film is much like the JPFO itself (Jews for the Preservation of Firearm Ownership)- this film is blunt, and doesn't spare any details. It is for this reason that Innocents Betrayed isn't for the weak stomached, or for the people who cannot acknowledge the atrocities that have occurred (and are still occurring) on this planet.

If you buy Innocents Betrayed, get ready for a brutally and graphically honest look into the government-led genocides and mass murders that occurred during the 20th century. Would you believe that an estimated 170,000,000 innocent, unarmed civilians were killed by their governments? As many of you probably know, and as will come as no surprise to the folks who don't know, governments that are about to systematically murder a portion of their population coincidentally first disarm them by means of gun-control.

Surprise, surprise, right?

Buy this video for yourself, or buy it for a family member or friend. Buy it for someone who needs a wake-up call, as there is no wake-up call like that of watching a bull-dozer push a stack of dead bodies into a mass grave.

In case you haven't caught on, this video has my strong recommendation.

Click HERE for more information on, or to buy Innocents Betrayed. Or, Click HERE to go to the JPFO site, and learn more about how they are fighting hard for all of our rights.

USCCA Forum Highlights
Every Deluxe Member has complete access to the USCCA forum, which is constantly being accessed by members sharing information, knowledge, insight, and fun. With well over twenty-thousand posts and growing by the hour, this is one heck of a valuable resource!

Have you ever read an article, or saw an ad about a gun, and wondered just how good it was? You ask your friends, but you already know they have never shot one like it. So who do you ask?

For this week's Forum Highlights, I want to show you just how awesome of a resource the United States Concealed Carry Online Forum really is! Check this out...

A Deluxe Member posted this question at exactly 8:57am:

One hour and forty-five minutes later, somebody responded with this:

I have a friend who has one. It seems to be dependable and is accurate. She has small hands so it fits her perfectly. We've only shot it indoors so I really don't know how it shoots at distance. When I lived on the river I used to go riding in my boat and shoot snakes with my Ruger Single Six, but I can't compare the P22 to the Ruger because we haven't shot it outdoors. Hope this helps a little.

Pretty cool, huh? Well, less than one minute later, someone else responded with this:

Have fired one a few times. Feels really great and seems to function. Haven't put one on a sandbag to check accuracy, though. Was a friend's. He likes it. That's about all the help I can be. I'm really fond of the Ruger semi-auto 22's.

Fifteen minutes after that, someone else replied:

I own two .22 caliber pistols, a Walther P22 and a Ruger Mark III. I never carry a .22 (personal choice), so my Walther is gathering rust. I liked it fine until I shot the Mark III. Since then the Mark III is the only one I take to the range. If I _were_ ever going to carry a .22 then the Walther might come in handy. It would be much easier to carry than the Mark III.

The list keeps going! An hour after that, someone else jumped in:

We rented one for my teenage daughter to take the concealed carry class. She loved it. I shot it and it was a fun gun. Light and easy to handle. She passed the class with no problem, so it seemed to be accurate. I plan to buy one as my next purchase for her and my wife to use.

This question was answered FIVE MORE TIMES that same day, and several more times the day after that.

Can you imagine instantly having HUNDREDS of friends who have experience with a Walther P22
(or any gun, holster, ammo, or training course) that you can ask questions any time you want, and get great responses in just minutes?

Now you can!

Quote of the Week
Sometimes a good quote will inspire or motivate you. Sometimes, they'll just put a smile on your face! Here is the quote for this week...

"This country..belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it."

~Abraham Lincoln

Earlier this week, I was listening to public radio, and became fired up over a discussion that the host and guest were having. The guest on the show was under scrutiny for digging up personal information on politicians and posting the information on his blog, even though he was not an actual reporter. This is what the man said in defense of himself:

"Look, I do not need to be a reporter in order to report. The First Amendment to the constitution guarantees my right to free speech. I don't have to be a reporter for that, I just have to be an American. There is no license or other requirement for receiving protection under the freedom of speech- everyone has that right."

What got me so riled up, is that this guy was about as 'far left' as they come, and I can almost guarantee you what his stance on the 2nd amendment would be. And, even though he feels so strongly that his right to free speech is a critical, integral part of being a FREE American, he most likely thinks that the right to bear arms is useless and out-dated.

I would have loved to been able to call in with this direct analogy:

Look, I do not need to be a law enforcement officer or solider in order to carry a gun. The Second Amendment to the constitution guarantees my right to bear arms. I don't have to be a cop or National Guardsmen for that, I just have to be an American. There is no license or other requirement for my right to bear arms under the Second Amendment- everyone has that right.

It just goes to show you how dire our situation is. I am thoroughly convinced that people who carry concealed are the 'creme of the crop' when it comes to gun owners: We have already proven that we are active, trustworthy, and dedicated citizens. Therefore, it is up to us to mobilize and work hard to make a difference. We shouldn't have to fight for our right to Keep and Bear Arms, but that is exactly the battle that has bestowed itself upon us!!

Well ladies and gentlemen, my rant is over!

Stay safe, stay in condition yellow, and have a great weekend!
