Arrested!
Let's presume for a moment that the officers who have responded to your self-defense shooting have for some reason arrested you. It can happen, despite your glowing halo of innocence. While the police may know you were the victim of the crime and the dead guy is the suspect, there is at least as much likelihood that you will be arrested anyway. If that is the case, by all means keep your mouth shut. Do not talk to the police except if you are injured and you decide to request medical treatment.
